In Italian, ‘VIRATA’ means to veer, or to change direction. VIRATA’s mission statement is therefore: “‘Change Direction, Re-define Your Time.’

Based in Ohio, VIRATA is a passionate startup watch company that creates, designs and assembles its own unique approach to watches. Launched on May 1, the brand is re-defining their own take on time with a first line of Automatic Watches, known as the VRT1 series.

Sourcing only the best materials, the VRT1 Series takes its inspiration from the look of fast super cars and motorcycles.  The aerodynamics of these high performance vehicles is expressed in the VIRATA case design.  The VRT1 Series offers 8 different case and dial color combinations.

The lug-less watches are 44mm (excluding crown) in diameter, by 14mm deep, and are designed to tuck neatly under sleeve cuffs.  Made from 316L stainless steel, the case comes in three finishes: a gunmetal, bead blast finish, a black PVD finish, and a highly polished silver-mirrored finish.

The watches run on the workhorse Miyota 9015 movement, beating at 8 vibrations per second and with a power reserve of over 42 hours.  Both the front crystal and the see through case back are protected with practically scratch-proof Sapphire crystal, covered on both sides with AR.

With water resistance to 100 meters, and mounted on genuine, perforated leather straps, the race inspired feel of the watches is self-evident. The dial features luminous numbers and hour markers as standard on all VRT1’s.  A one year limited Manufacturer’s International warranty also applies.
